The Role of Community

What actually works
Journaling
Writing after a retreat helps the insights land. Research on expressive writing shows it supports emotional processing and meaning-making, the exact thing integration asks of you. Start with what you remember, what surprised you, what keeps returning. No format required.

Somatic Practices
Retreats move something at the body level, and talk alone often can’t reach it. Breathwork, gentle movement, and body-based awareness help the nervous system integrate what the mind can’t yet name. These practices aren’t extras. They’re often where the real work happens.
Our Reset Room
Community Circles
Integration can feel isolating. The people around you often don’t share the language or the experience. Circles of people who do are one of the most consistent factors in lasting integration. You don’t have to explain. You just have to show up.

Working with a Coach
A coach holds the container between ceremonies. Someone who has walked the path can ask the questions you haven’t thought to ask and help translate insight into daily life. One-hour integration calls aren’t enough. Sustained relationship is.

REAL EXPERIENCES
People who were where you are
“I didn’t realize how alone I felt until I joined. After my experience, I had no one to talk to who actually got it. This was the first place where I could say what I was going through without feeling crazy. That alone changed everything.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Plant Medicine Path a retreat?
No, and this is the most important thing to know. The Plant Medicine Path (PMP) is an online integration community and educational platform. We don’t run retreats, we don’t provide ceremonies, and we don’t offer any medicines or substances. What we do provide is the support you need before and after a plant medicine experience, wherever you choose to have that experience.
Who is Plant Medicine Path for?
PMP is built for people who:
- Recently completed a psychedelic or plant medicine experience and feel unsettled, changed, or unsure how to move forward
- Don’t have a therapist, coach, or community who understands the experience
- Want structured support translating insights into real, lasting change
- Are preparing for an upcoming ceremony and want to do the work beforehand
PMP may not be the right fit if you already have a strong integration framework, work with a licensed psychedelic-assisted therapist, or have an active local integration circle you trust.
Who are the coaches and what are their credentials?
Our coaching roster includes a mix of licensed clinicians and certified integration professionals: psychotherapists, licensed mental health counselors, certified psychedelic-assisted psychotherapists, integration life coaches, somatic practitioners, and emotional release specialists. Credentials vary by coach, and each coach’s specific training and scope are listed on their individual profile in the community.
Important to know: “Integration coach” is not a licensed or regulated title. A certified integration coach and a licensed therapist offer different kinds of support, and the right fit depends on what you’re working through. We encourage every member to read coach bios carefully and, when possible, schedule an intro call before committing to ongoing work.
How is a PMP coach different from a therapist?
The simplest distinction: coaching is forward-looking and skill-building. Therapy is clinical and treatment-oriented. A PMP integration coach helps you take insights from a ceremony and translate them into practical life changes: new habits, clearer boundaries, sustainable practices. A licensed therapist diagnoses and treats mental health conditions and is the right choice if you’re working through clinical-level trauma, depression, anxiety, or substance use.
Many PMP members work with both a coach and a therapist. They do different things, and they complement each other.
What’s included in the 30-day free trial?
The 30-day free trial gives you full access to the PMP community: weekly live calls, the full coach roster, integration resources, recorded sessions, and the mobile app. You can attend group integration circles, sit in on live workshops, connect with coaches, and participate in the community without paying. If PMP isn’t the right fit, you can cancel before the trial ends at no cost.
Who founded Plant Medicine Path?
PMP was co-founded by Mark and Michele Medal, based in Fort Myers, Florida.
How do I get the most out of joining PMP after a retreat?
The first 30 to 90 days after a ceremony are the most critical window for integration. That’s when insights are fresh but old patterns start reasserting themselves. We recommend:
- Joining at least one live call in your first week
- Reading the integration starter resources before your first group session
- Scheduling a free intro call with a coach whose approach resonates with you
- Committing to a journaling or reflection practice you can sustain
- Coming back to the community even when you feel “fine.” Integration is a longer arc than the afterglow.
What do people say about PMP?
Member testimonials appear throughout our site, and our app holds a 5.0-star rating on the App Store. For independent perspectives, we also encourage prospective members to look for discussions on Reddit, particularly in r/microdosing, r/psychedelics, and r/PsychedelicTherapy, where people often share candid experiences with integration communities.
